Kevin Smit
Manager, Power Planning Resources
Kevin is the Manager of Power Planning Resources at the Council. His team conducts technical and policy research on power generation technologies, demand side energy resources, and energy efficiency. Kevin’s technical work is focused on developing and implementing the energy efficiency aspects of the Council’s regional power plans. He collaborates with numerous stakeholders on energy efficiency and electricity resource planning issues throughout the region.
Prior to the Council, Kevin was the Manager of Energy Efficiency at EES Consulting where he developed energy efficiency potential assessments for utilities. Other prior experience includes Product Manager at Snohomish PUD, Program Manager at Energy International, Inc., and a senior engineer for Boeing. Kevin holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Dordt University and a Master of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington.
