Jennifer Light Named Interim Director of the Council’s Power Planning Division

The Council has appointed Jennifer Light as interim director of power planning. She is replacing Ben Kujala, who has taken a position starting in June with Dunsky Energy + Climate Advisors, a Montreal consulting firm specializing in demand-side resources. Kujala has been the power division director since 2016.

Light joined the Council in 2014 as manager of the Regional Technical Forum, a technical advisory group that develops standards to verify energy efficiency savings. Prior to joining the Council, Jennifer spent six years with the Consortium for Energy Efficiency, working with U.S. and Canadian utilities on common energy efficiency initiatives. Light also has experience managing and supporting large projects for federal and state agencies such as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the National Science Foundation. Light has a bachelor’s degree in geology from Macalester College and a master’s in public administration from Columbia University.

“I’m honored and excited to continue the Council’s work on regional solutions to the challenges we face in a changing power system,” said Light. “The 2021 Power Plan outlines a roadmap to a reliable and affordable power supply, and I look forward to working with our partners in implementing its goals.”
